Ashlea- you are definitely not the only one your age!

I work at a college and as it is move-in time, there are lots of first house meetings- I always mention AG as one of my interests and there is nearly always a handful of women still collecting. Even the young men remember the dolls!

Here's a quote by someone I know - "I'm a little boy trapped in an old man's body." The person who said that was my 87 yo grandfather. He lived about five years more after he said that. Now I know exactly what he meant. I hope I always stay young, even if I don't look like it on the outside

It is different as an older adult because now I have a greater capability to buy all the stuff I want, indulging my childhood fantasies of having "gazillions" of dolls.

Hi, Is there something wrong with an adult loving dolls - no, of course not! Especialy one like me - I don't remember playing with dolls when I was young but I couldn't resist the AG dolls when i discovered them last year. I have 2 boys and 3 grandboys ~ we're expecting a grandgirl in December ~ we'll see if I want to "play" dolls with her ~ I'm not sure I know how but I can't wait to try! BTW, I think I win ~ I'll be 65 in this year!! Ardis

I am 35 years old. I did not feel like an adult into after my parents death and then it was a bit overwhelming to realize.

When ever anyone questions why I collect dolls at my age I respond with I am re-parenting myself

I'm 28! I just discovered AG about 2 months ago when I overwhelmingly felt I needed to get my newborn daughter a doll; not that she could even play with it! My mom started collecting me porcelain dolls when I was small, and I still have them all; but I could never play with them for fear they'd break. I wanted my daughter to have a doll she could play with, and AG fit the bill! I bought her a bitty baby, and I wanted one that looked like her; and since Molly is the only one with brown hair and grey eyes like Alison, I spent months trying to find just the right one on eBay. I don't know what happened. I got bitten. In only two months, I have a PM Bitty, PM Molly, PM Felicity, and soon a PM Kirsten! My husband thinks I'm nuts, but that's okay! I hope Alison grows up and loves them as much as I do!

I was well into my high school career when these dolls came out, and BOY did I want one....but we couldn't afford sixty bucks for someone about to go to college. Now that I'm a big girl, I'm able to feed that AG need...and it's looking as though I'm fairly well fed!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You've still got one more to go, oddly enough. Most car rental companies won't let you rent or even drive a rented car till you're 25. How about that. My friend had car troubles on a road trip and ended up having to drive a U-Haul truck home, since you only need a license to rent one of those.
